Quartography
1. Agreeing to these terms
These terms apply when you use the Quartography apps for iPhone and Android, the browser game and this website (together, “Quartography”). By playing, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Quartography.
If you set Quartography up for a child, you accept these terms on their behalf.
2. Your licence to play
Quartography is free. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and play it for your own and your family's non-commercial enjoyment. You may not:
- copy, resell or redistribute the game, its cards, artwork or question bank;
- reverse-engineer it, except where the law allows you to;
- use bots, scripts or scraping against our server or its leaderboards.
3. Families and parents
Family features are set up and run by a parent or guardian. The parent PIN protects family settings and stakes. Keep it to yourself, and share your family code only with people you want in your family. Anyone with the code can add a phone to the family until a parent removes it.
4. Fair play
Names you choose for people, phones and families, and names you use in Live play, can be seen by other players. Don't use names or family questions that are offensive, hateful, sexual, or that impersonate someone or reveal another person's private details. Don't try to disrupt the game, other players or our servers. We may rename, remove or block anything that breaks these rules.
5. Your content
Family questions and photos you add stay yours and stay on your phone. Names and game data you sync are stored so the features work. You give us permission to store and show them for that purpose only, as described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Our content
The Quartography name, logo, card designs, artwork, sounds, software and question bank belong to Quartography or its licensors. Country facts, flags and public data used in the questions remain subject to their own sources and licences.
7. Facts and questions
We work hard to keep around 29,000 questions correct and current, but borders, populations, capitals and other facts change and sources disagree. Quartography is a game, not a reference work. If you spot a mistake, tell us at [email protected] and we'll fix it.
8. Family stakes
Family stakes, such as chores and perks, are agreements between members of your family. They are not bets. They have no cash value, and we are not a party to them. No real money is ever involved.
9. Online features
Family sync, Live play and leaderboards depend on our server and the internet. We aim to keep them running but can't promise they'll always be available. We may change, pause or retire features. Solo play keeps working on your phone without them.
10. No warranty
Quartography is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, as far as the law allows. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have as a consumer that can't be waived under the law where you live.
11. Liability
As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost data, from using or being unable to use Quartography. Because the game is free, our total liability to you is limited to 50 US dollars or the equivalent. This doesn't limit liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
12. App Store and Google Play
If you downloaded Quartography from Apple's App Store, these terms are between you and Quartography, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and isn't responsible for claims about the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. You also agree to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement where it applies.
If you downloaded it from Google Play, Google Play's terms also apply to your download.
13. Ending
You can stop at any time by deleting the app, and ask us to erase your family data on Delete your data. We may suspend access to online features for anyone who breaks these terms.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we'll let you know in the app. If you keep playing after a change, you accept the new terms.
